Winemaker Notes: "This classic red wine varietal is well known for its rich personality and taste. Barefoot Merlot is the perfect combo of cherry, boysenberry, plum, and chocolate. A mocha finish is complemented by hints of smoky vanilla oak. Raised right, it’s well rounded with mild tannins." https://www.influenster.com/reviews/barefoot-merlot
Wine Folly: pg.131 general Merlot- Wine Folly lists cherry, plum, chocolate, dried herbs, and vanilla as the primary aromas of Merlot. The book also recommends that this wine is decanted 30 minutes before it is served. It also lists tannins, acidity, alcohol, and body in the medium range.
My Review: I thought this was a very good, medium bodied wine with relaxed tannins. I got lots blackberry, cherry, and plum notes. I also tasted some chocolate and vanilla notes on the smooth finish of the wine. I would love to pair this wine with beef, pork, and cherry chocolate cake!
